Bondage-Advanced
Intense fantasies often involve advanced equipment and tools, and bondage devices can enhance the physical and psychological sensations of helplessness, deprivation or focus. Many bondage items in this collection can aid in this transformation from living being to disembodied spirit to service tool to benefit an owner. Find hoods, bodybags, full coverage suits, etc. as well as useful accessories that strap the body to transform the bound into a service instrument
In the Sexploratorium Advanced Bondage collection you will find bondage furniture, spreader bars, mummification and objectification tools as well as other esoteric bondage products
Mummification often involves complete immobilization and sensory depriviation which can create a sensation of leaving the body, or can focus all attention to sensations applied to specific parts of the body.
Objectification is a fetish activity where one or more persons assumes the role of an inanimate object, such as a piece of furniture, a rug, a coat hook, etc. as a form of ultimate humbling and dehumanization. Often the object is a useful item that benefits the person playing the dominant role, allowing for the dominant to ignore the objectified person playing the submissive/passive/object role.
Spreader Bars A spreader bar is a sturdy rod or bar that forces two limbs to remain spread apart during bondage. Usually a cuff (ankle, wrist) is clasped onto either side of the bar to create a gap between those limbs. Some rods are adjustable, while others are fixed at a given length.
Hoods Hoods (and other full coverage masks) provide anonymity and remove the appearance of being an everyday human. They also provide constraint and compression that is enjoyed by people with claustrophilia, even as it is feared by people with claustrophobia. Some hoods are in fact bondage equipment that completely deprive certain senses (sight, smell, hearing, taste) or are padded or inflatable to provide tighter constriction. Related “head trip” items include muzzles, head harnesses, and hoods or masks designed for roleplay (pony play, puppy play, etc).
To put on a hood: aim the chin into the hood first and put the palms of the hands in the hood to pull over behind the head.
Warning: Suffocation is a real risk with hoods and gags as airways can be blocked, especially when a person is in bondage. Some latex hoods in particular are used to create a disorienting sensation of breath control (we can special order said items upon customer request but do not offer them typically due to inherent danger).
Gas Masks Gas masks were traditionally created for military and civilian use to protect persons from inhaling poisonous gas during wartime chemical attack. These are affordable and less labor intensive (to use) types of headgear that can can be used to control breathing (if filter is unopened). Some include drinking straws. Many can be combined with open face hoods to create a unique “hood” experience.
Straitjackets Straitjackets were originally designed for the psychiatry industry to provide a comforting position for people with phobias, mania, etc. Unfortunately, because claustrophobic people would panic and hurt themselves trying to escape, they are no longer legal for use in the medical industry. However, for bondage enthusiasts, these jackets provide restraint that is comfortable enough to sleep in (if you don’t try to to escape) in body positions that are comforting.
Bodybags Also known as sleep sacks or mummy sacks, these are full-length sheaths that lace or zip over the entire body from feet to neck.
Arm-Binders Arm-Binders include any number of items that confine both arms at once, the most classic style being a single sheath that pulls the biceps behind the back and thrusts the chest forward. Unfortunately this classic style can only be worn by the most flexible of upper bodies and must be carefully sized and is therefore only available as a Special Order.
